Editorial Page editor of the
Denver Post, Chuck Plunkett, made a
defense on Sunday of Post coverage of accusations that Mayor Michael Hancock used an escort service in 2011. The story surfaced on June 2, 2011, days before Hancock’s runoff election with Chris Romer. He ended the column rather ambivalently, with no certainty that the Post got it right, only an explanation it tried its best. Plunkett’s explanation of the Post’s decision is relevant as Mayor Hancock is entangled in another sex-related scandal.
