As the results come in, watch the three swing counties of
Arapahoe, Jefferson and Larimer. President
Bush carried all three in 2004, but so did President Obama in 2008.
They have drifted Democratic in recent years, from a
long-time Republican voting history to be the state’s premiere ticket-splitting
counties. They each have very
significant blocs of independent-leaning registered unaffiliated voters. Colorado and its swing counties are at the
national averages for presidential races.
