Colorado Republicans Maintain Senate Lead

The latest Rasmussen automated dialing poll continues to show Republicans Ken Buck and Jane Norton lead Democratic incumbent Senator Michael Bennet and his primary opponent Andrew Romanoff.

Democratic Party leaders are doing poorly among Colorado voters, no doubt dragging down the ticket. President Obama has a 41 percent approval rating, with only 29 percent strongly approving and 52 percent strongly disapproving. Governor Ritter has a 42 percent approval.

Buck tends to run slightly ahead of Norton in all the matches up, confirming that he maintains a lead going into the August 10 primary (see Denver Post poll).

Romanoff runs two or three points better than Bennet in the face-to-face offs.

Generally, the poll confirms about a 5-point Republican advantage going into the general election.
